It's Going to be a Busy Sunday! This week we are having the *Annual Backpack Blessing, Welcome Back Brunch and the Flag Dedication. Come and start the fall season off with joy, fellowship and a meal!
* Anyone who carries a backpack, laptop bag, or similar item is welcome to bring it to be blessed (you don’t even have to be a student or teacher)!
Farewell to Summer - We are also going to celebrate the end of summer with a Lemonade Stand before the Sunday brunch. Price is $2.00 per cup with the proceeds going to the '20 x 20' campaign. Make sure to bring your "Toonies"!
Pie Testing Sept. 12,10-4. Our Hospitality Team will be in our kitchen tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:00 am to test out pie crust recipes They would love to have you join them, or if you can't make it, maybe just drop off Gramma's secret pie crust recipe?

The Well -Donate your empty bread, hamburger, hot dog buns, pita bread or bagel bags. It would be very much appreciated by "The Well", an Ottawa soup kitchen that serves breakfast to low-income people and the unhoused. The Well is a project of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa.
They collect and reuse bread bags to send leftovers away with their customers. A donation bin is located in the Narthex.
Messy Church: The next Messy Church is October 2! 5:30, including dinner, all ages welcome! This year, we’re going to try combining it with the pet blessing – stay tuned for details!

The Next Men's Breakfast is Saturday, September 19. Meet at 08:00 to help cook. Come at 08:30 for helping set up the room. Come for 09:00 to eat and for conversation. A Note about Future Men's Breakfasts The plan is to host a breakfast in the next 6 months on the following Saturdays: There is no breakfast in November because of the Christmas Bazaar. Please plan to offer your help to the bazaar coordinators that day. Future dates are October 17, December 19, January 16, 2027, February 20, 2027
Book & Bake Sale - Sat. Oct 3. The hospitality team continues to work hard to raise funds for the '20 x20' Campaign. This sale is also a perfect opportunity to pick up some baking for Thanksgiving (Oct.12.) Then think about those cool fall days ahead, a cozy blanket, your favourite hot beverage and a great book! Your favourite authors will be waiting .
How Can You help? We need donations of baking and of course, books. Books can be dropped off at the church during office hours Tues- Friday 9:30 -3:30 or Sunday before the 10:00 service. ( No encyclopedias please)

The Roast Beef Dinner is happening on Oct 17. The doors will open at 5:30 pm to the incredible aroma of slow cooked beef, vegetables and of course, Yorkshire pudding! This event is also BYOB so make sure to pick out that perfect bottle of wine ahead of time.

Food for the Journey: Bite-Sized Spiritual Sustenance for a Troubled World, Sunday mornings from 8:45-9:30, beginning September 20
As Christians, we are called to demonstrate Christ’s love in this troubled world, but how can we do that when we, too, are tired and afraid? This series will help us build a toolkit of simple spiritual practices that can help sustain us when life gets tough. Each week, we will explore a different way that our faith can nourish us through good times and bad. And, as a bonus, our small bites of spiritual wisdom will be accompanied by small bites of miniature muffins or donuts.
Help Needed
Children's Corner - We are looking for volunteers to staff our Children's Corner as several of those who had been doing so have had to step back. It’s easy and fun and you get to hang out with some great kids! Let Grace or Laura H. know if you would like to participate.
The Altar Guild is looking for a few new team members. If you can find about 3 hours a month and would like to be a part of something special, this might be for you. West Island Ride/Walk team in support of Action Réfugiés Montréal is happening on Saturday October 3rd. Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church and Ste-Geneviève United Church are again organizing a team to ride and walk to raise money for Action Réfugiés Montréal. Registration at 10:00 am, ride/ walk at 11:00, lunch served at Church of the Epiphany Anglican the church at noon.

Chat and Craft Group: If you are 14 or older, please join us from 7-9 in the loft. This is an informal fellowship that meets on the third Monday of the month.
