WHAT'S  NEW?

The Christmas Bazaar

You Did It!
It was a record breaker

After Months of Planning and Preparation, the doors opened at 9:00 am.  Everything was ready and it wasn't long  before some very happy voices were heard...... "Let the shopping begin" and it did.  What a great day.

What Can We Say Except, Thank You! It's was an enormous undertaking with an unbelievable amount of moving parts. Led by Marie-Claude Martz, her family,  all the Committee Chairs,  and the incredible volunteers, it all came together to make for a record breaking day.  Even the weather cooperated!

If You Donated  your time,  baking,  sale items, or were a shopper, we absolutely  appreciate your efforts. Your support makes a world of difference to our ability to support others

"As many of you know by now, our dear friend and supporter Bruce Wheatcroft, husband of our organist Bill Hutton, died on October 10. His funeral will be on November 29, in Kitchener, and will be live-streamed.

Many of us have wonderful memories of his friendship, his musicianship, and his sense of humour, And of their partnership, of good times, both at St Andrew and St Mark, and socially at The Abbey for the Arts, and of personal support and friendship.
We have been using Bruce’s Mass setting during our communion services this “term” - and do so today with an extra layer of meaning and intent."

 Project Updates

The Roof - Almost done! It's been a busy week dodging the wind, cold weather, and church events, but we're happy to say we're on the home stretch. Thank you for your patience around  the noise and parking challenges.

Back Door- We have now placed the order to replace the back door.  As previously mentioned, it had unfortunately deteriorated to the point where another repair was just throwing our money away.
Although disappointed, we did take the opportunity to make some upgrades around its insulation properties and change the way it opens.
Coupled with these improvements, it will also have a key lock that will allow  the door to be opened from the outside. Once closed, it will automatically relock.  The "cherry on top" is a new doorbell that will allow both the daycare and ourselves to know when someone needs into the building from the parking lot side.

The  Downstairs  Project - Lighting, Ceiling & Office - Since the project was approved,  things have been coming together and we are looking to start in early January.  Completion is expected by Pancake Tuesday in February.  The work will be done in stages to minimize the disruption to the church, daycare, and  our renters.

Front Door Lock - We are still waiting on an installation
